Teaching Philosophy

My primary goal is to encourage a lifelong admiration and curiosity for the fine arts through music while exposing the student to a multiplicity of styles and genres critical to the complete musician.  To this end, I hope to assist the student in obtaining the practical and theoretical skill sets required of aspiring professional musicians.  I encourage the student to pursue and explore a pluralistic approach embracing traditional western art music (both large ensemble and chamber), electroacoustic, popular, and international musics in developing their musical voice.
